The Penguin

probably gonna just log each episode EPISODE 1: pretty good pilot. some of the dialogue is pretty pretentious, especially of a certain character in the beginning of the episode, but considering what happens 10 minutes in, it sorts itself out. the show perhaps doesn't have the same maturity that Matt Reeves' directorials have, but it does do pretty well to emulate it. really nothing original or inventive here, but it is still fun, and does what it does well. continuity-wise, it is a bit weird to see the set design here obviously suffering from a budget less than The Batman, but it's nothing too distracting, and they do still make a very good set (STILL a better Gotham than Nolan's bullshit). also Colin Farrell's Irish accent slips out a couple times lol. but he is, as always, phenomenal. the shots going down from Batman's skyline POV at the beginning and going back up to it at the end of the ep were also cool to see. Oz's little Penguin shuffle walk too lol. there is some fun visual storytelling. can't really say much else about the show so far; introduces a few new characters that i hope it can pay off properly within the show itself, and not just leave EVERYTHING open ended to continue in future movies/shows. keep things contained. solid 7/10.
