Wicked

💚🩷They did not need to hit that hard with the opening scene. Glinda saying “The wicked witch of the west is dead” with the flying monkeys escaping the castle and the wicked score and the core four on the yellow brick rode is such an amazing way to start these two films. And no i won’t be talking about “No one mourns the wicked” in this review cuz i don’t wanna cry again. What i will say about the song tho is that if i could have an affair with [spoiler] on the piano i would be a better person 💚🩷Why are people starting to hate on Nessa? Does she have the best morality in act 2? Not really. But this is act 1 where she’s a cutie with her cutie bf leave them alone. Nessa and Boq best wicked couple, there i said it. 💚🩷The way eveyone sings SO SO SO good in this. I’m looking at you [musical movie where they wear pink on wednesdays]. Who knew Peter Dinklage would eat so hard during “Something bad”. And i don’t even need to talk about Cynthia, Ariana and Jonny cuz they know they did incredible, we know they did incredible, the universe knows they did incredible. 💚🩷I can’t pick favorites among wicked songs, so i can’t really say “my favorite one is in act 2”, but i will make sure i won’t die til next november (and ofc afterwards too but it’s more important til november), so i can hear “No good deed”, “As long as you’re mine” and “For good”. 💚🩷I think spliting it in two and having an year gap was the right choice. Not only do we get more lore with the double screen time, but this one didn’t even feel that long. And if they would ever release a full version with both parts (like what happened with Kill Bill), i WOULD watch it on repeat for sure. And the year gap is so good. It brings anticipation and doubles the wicked era. Also i feel like i need a full year to accept the fact the next time we’ll see them (and they’ll see each other) they will have changed to much and they won’t be the innocent young students anymore. 💚🩷The real question is which one of my personalities (aka the 5 friends) will i have tomorrow cuz it’s the first day since the movie came out that i’m not going to see it (i hate mondays). This has truly been one of the best weekends of my life. Literally did nothing except wicked related stuff all 2.5 days. Dropped all the work i had to do cuz i was feeling so empty and longing to see the movie again so i had to be listening to the soundtrack and watch cast interviews. I haven’t felt this changed by a movie since Barbie came out. And that movie is literally on a whole other lever for me, but god damn Wicked got me happy again.
