Wicked

💚🩷Thank goodness it’s finally the weekend and i get to watch this movie again. Literally the only thing i could think of all week was seeing this again in theathers. That and doing the quests in the roblox game to get the Dr Dillamond pet. Can’t get enough of this movie and world. If spotify didn’t stop tracking songs before the soundtrack came out, my wrapped would be full of wicked (last year it was full of the stage version so). 💚🩷Still can’t get over how incredible this whole “era” is. It’s not just a movie, it’s a whole experience. It really is made for all of us who loved Barbie so much last summer. And thank god it’s Christmas so i get to ask for the merch instead of buying it myself. Do i need Elphaba’s hat and Glinda’s wand? No. Will i get them? Most probably. And also a flying monkey plush is a must. Aparat from the funkos and clothes and pins and keychains… Ok i won’t actually buy ALL of those (famous last words) but i sure want to. 💚🩷I said in my last reviews that one of the things i love the most in Oz is how much diversity and representation there is and how everyone is accepted. I can’t believe it took me a full week to realize how fool i was. It’s literally the point of the movie that the government is racist and doesn’t accept people that are different. But what i was mainly referring to was the core 5. That friend group is so unique and everyone has their own different backgrounds and they work so well together and love each other. And also the incredible diverse cast. I think everyoen can feel represented through a character/actor in this movie. And in the world we live in right now, with the kind leaders that win the elections all around the world, i think we really need what the students at Shiz have it term of loving each other and seeing past our differences. And yes i know Shiz is an incredibly incredibly corrupted place (especially in the book), but we’ll have time to cry about that next november. For now let’s celebrate. 💚🩷God everyone in this is outstanding. I don’t even have words for Cynthia and Ari. They sing, act, dance to everything. Is there something they can’t do? And Jonny… It’s the thrid time i’m seeing the film and i still get starstruck during “Dancing Through Life”. Now i want everyone to tell me where does the Nessa hate come from? I know about Part 2, but why hate her now? People hate her for not standing up for her sister (mainly at the ball), but that’s now who she is. She is not a bold and straightforward person like Elphie. And we clearly see how much she loves her sister and takes her side in front of their dad. Also, what does Glinda do at the end? Does she get on the broom and stand up againts the government with her best friend? Or does she turn into her worst enemie’s puppet? And i don’t see anyone hating Glinda for it. 💚🩷I do agree with the fact that ending the movie right after Elphaba’s high note would’ve been so powerful, but i did like seeing her fly away from the palace finally feeling free, while Glinda was going back inside, looking behing her and crying. This parallel is so important to what they will become in Part 2 that i don’t mind not having that epic ending on the high note. 💚🩷Thank goodness they split it in two so that we have a really long Wicked era, cuz i don’t know what i would do if you were to tell me it’s all over. Need more of the press tour, the red carpet looks, the anticipation, the merch. I just need more of everything Wicked stands for. So i am beyond excited for next november to get evern more of this world (although i think the first trailer for Part 2 should drop in spring so we don’t even have to wait that long) 💜🩶💚
