As of recently I’ve been fixated on KATSEYE. From going to my brother begging to hear Gnarly ft. Ice Spice on car rides, to now joining Weverse for the first time to keep up with the community and know about updates within the girl group, my love for KATSEYE has truly blossomed over these last couple weeks, almost a month now. I believe it truly started when I was trying to know the members names, I obviously knew Lara. She’s quite literally the IT girl, at least on my feed. Manon and Daniela really stood out to me as well. Sophia, Yoonchae, and Megan I had little to no idea about. I looked more into them, and I was literally getting clips of them ON MY YOUTUBE SHORTS. This definitely plays into it, because genuinely I was so starstruck by their personalities in these clips. They all compliment each other so well. Just want to say that Megan is my bias and Sophia is my bias wrecker. Sophia’s story and her being in this global girl group actually means so much to me, as a Half Filipina myself. RAAAAAAAAH🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🦅🦅🦅‼️ My mom loved competitive shows like how this documentary portrayed the choosing for the final group. I just know she would’ve eat this up if I still kept in contact with her. As of lately I’ve been really missing her too. I know she would love Sophia and be so happy for the representation for her motherland. Because, I know I am. I wish I had someone like Sophia to look up to growing up, it was so difficult being the only Filipina girl in school and barely even knowing about my culture and due to how I was raised. As I’ve grown up, I’ve started to look into my own culture and get familiar with it. And I love the sense of community and family that the Philippines has for its people, it literally quite SHINED through for Sophia’s place in KATSEYE. I could go on and on about how Sophia means so much to me, but this review will literally be longer than it already is, but just one. I hope one day I can tell my mom about Sophia, and I genuinely would love to meet Sophia and tell her just how much she means to me, and the little Filipina girl that’s within me.
